Camp Broadway has announced that on Sunday, May 6, 2007,  Tony Award winner Tommy Tune will be onboard the Liberty of the Seas , the new, spectacular second ship in Royal Caribbean International's Freedom family and the largest cruise ship in the world, to help Camp Broadway launch Adventure Theater.  Adventure Theater, the first partnership between Camp Broadway and Royal Caribbean International, is an exciting new interactive theatre arts program for all Royal Caribbean guests, aged three to seventeen.

Liberty of the Seas will be christened on May 19 in Miami, and its inaugural cruise will feature the official launch of Adventure Theater.  From then on all Royal Caribbean cruises will offer theatre sessions tailored to each of the youth program's five age groups.  In these sessions the young guests will gain exposure to performance fundamentals, music and dance techniques, and cultural elements from Royal Caribbean destinations through stories and folktales.  Each cruise will culminate in a performance alongside the onboard Entertainment Staff, offering a memory that no family or child will soon forget.

Tune will be onboard the Liberty of the Seas on May 6 to discuss the importance of theater and the arts programs for children and young adults.  For over twelve years, Camp Broadway has been a leader in the formation of such programs, which assist in the formation of self-expression skills that raise confidence and self-esteem in youngsters and teens, in addition to creating a life-long commitment to and appreciation for the arts.

Camp Broadway "provides life-long learning through theatre related special events, educational programming, professional development and corporate training, as well as its published study guide series, StageNotes®. The company serves as a vital link between Broadway's many theatrical productions, estates and libraries to families, schools and social organizations.  Now in its 12th year, Camp Broadway has enabled over 200,000 school children to attend a Broadway show through its educational programs and has hosted over 6,000 theatre-loving kids from every state and over 40 countries at its annual summer camp in New York.  Camp Broadway is the recipient of the 2002 Standing Ovation Award from the Educational Theatre Association for program excellence," state press notes.
