The Duplex Cabaret will continue its "Broadway Downtown" series on Monday, April 3rd at 7pm with a concert performed by Trent Armand Kendall.
Kendall will break away from rehearsal for Li'l Abner at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Hadam, CT, where he will be playing the role of Marryin' Sam (April 21st – July 8th), in a production directed by Scott Schwartz.The concert will be an "eclectic evening of music entitled Who Am I?: a blended confection of sweet jazz, hot blues, tasty pop, savory T&B, delectable Broadway and gritty gospel." Also featured will be never-before-heard original songs by songwriter Michael Polese, arranged by Kendall. Kendall most recently appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, in which he played the Steward and was the understudy for The Baker. He was a member of the original cast of Bat Boy, The Musical (off-Broadway, originating the role of Mrs. Taylor/Rev. Hightower). Other credits include Five Guys Named Moe, Hey, Mr. Producer! (London), Finian's Rainbow (revival), Nunsense, Amen!, The Wizard of Oz, Juba, Smokey Joe's Cafe (first national tour), Joseph… (Canadian premiere).
