Tony-winners Richard Easton and Maryann Plunkett Perform Shakespeare April 18

The Shakespeare Society will present Shakespeare's Fathers and Daughters, moderated by Harvard Professor Marjorie Garber, author of the acclaimed Shakespeare After All, on Monday, April 18th at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park & Lexington Avenues) from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Directed by Michael Sexton, Tony Award-winners Richard Easton (The Invention of Love) and Maryann Plunkett (Me and My Girl) along with Elizabeth Marvel (NYTW/Hedda Gabler) and Cherise Booth will perform scenes from several of Shakespeare's plays, including King Lear, Pericles, Much Ado About Nothing, and Romeo and Juliet.

MARJORIE GARBER is William R. Keenan, Jr., Professor of English and Director of Humanities Center at Harvard University. Her previous books include Vested Interests: Cross Dressing and Cultural Anxiety, Symptoms of Culture, Dog Love, and Sex and Real Estate. Garber will sign copies of Shakespeare After All immediately following the event.

The Shakespeare Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment, understanding, and appreciation of the works of William Shakespeare. Each season The Society offers its members events featuring dialogue and performance with some of the finest classical actors and directors. The Society also supports Shakespeare activities for teachers and students in over 20 New York City public schools and has an adult education program.
