Tony DeSare Performs This Week at Any Wednesday

Following Joanne Beretta's performance of classic cabaret songs last week, Any Wednesday will present New Jersey's Tony DeSare, a young jazz/singer pianist who is known for his interpretations of old standards, contemporary classics, and his own original compositions. One of the earliest guests of the Any Wednesday series two years ago, DeSare will return on March 14th to celebrate the release of his second album, Last First Kiss, from Telarc.
"Any Wednesday celebrates the best in jazz, cabaret and theater performers in the spacious third floor events space at the Lincoln Square Barnes & Noble at 66th and Broadway in New York City. Each performance begins at 6:00 p.m., lasts approximately a half hour and is followed by a signing/meet-and-greet session with the artists," state press notes. All events are free and open to the public.Next week Any Wednesday will feature Moira Danis paying tribute to 60's recording star Petula Clark, and upcoming performances include Russell Brauer, Richard Holbrook and Jasper Kump (March 28), Tom Jones and the cast of The Fantasticks (April 11), Mary Foster Conklin (April 18), Terese Genecco with Barry Lloyd (April 25), Steven Brinberg and guests (May 9), Louise Rogers (May 16), Jessica Molaskey with John Pizzarelli (May 23), and Maude Maggart (May 30).Photo by Bill Westmoreland
