Tony Awards Tickets Go On Sale on May 16

On May 16th, tickets for the 2006 Tony Awards, which will be held at Radio City Music Hall on June 11th and broadcast live on CBS (from 8 PM to 11 PM), will go on sale.

The tickets will officially become available at 9 PM; they can be ordered online or by phone.

The same day, Tony Award-winners Phylicia Rashad, Natasha Richardson and Liev Schreiber will announce nominations for the 60th Annual Tony Awards at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium (111 Amsterdam Avenue).

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Jed Bernstein is President. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.


Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2006 Tony Awards. Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2006 Tony Awards.


Beginning at 7:15, pre-telecast coverage of the Tony Awards will be shown on the Tony Awards website.
