Jonathan Groff may have already passed on his crown, but that doesn't mean he's missing out on the Hamilton Tonys action. The star just picked up a nomination for his portrayal of King Geroge III (Best Performance by and Actor in a Feature Role in a Musical) and he's telling us all about why he is in love with the character.

During his life cut too short, he served as George Washington's chief aide, was the first Treasury Secretary, a loving husband and father, despised by his fellow Founding Fathers and shot to death by Aaron Burr in their legendary duel.
The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Tony Award winner James Corden, will air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 12, 2016 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
