THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, the six-time 2002 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, will play its final performance at Broadway's Marquis Theatre on Sunday, June 20, 2004. It will have played 32 previews and 904 regular performances since its March 2002 debut.

With book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by Dick Scanlan, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE previewed on March 19, 2002 and officially opened on April 18, 2002. It is directed by Michael Mayer and choreographed by Tony Award winner Rob Ashford.

A delightful valentine to the longstanding spirit of New York City and the people who seek to discover themselves there, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE takes audiences back to the height of the Jazz Age in New York City, when "moderns" – including a flapper named Millie Dillmount – were bobbing their hair, raising their hemlines, entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love.

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE stars Susan Egan as Millie Dillmount, Leslie Uggams as Muzzy Van Hossmere and Dixie Carter and Mrs. Meers, and features Christian Borle as Jimmy Smith, Kevin Earley as Mr. Trevor Graydon, original cast member Angela Christian as Miss Dorothy Brown, David Rhee as Ching Ho, Peter Kim as Bun Foo and Liz McCartney as Miss Flannery.

The production received six 2002 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actress (Sutton Foster), Best Featured Actress (Harriet Harris), Best Orchestrations, Best Costume Design and Best Choreography.

The current U.S. national tour and London productions of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE are ongoing.
