Theater Latté Da To Celebrate Ritz Theater Centennial During Doors Open Minneapolis
Theater Latté Da's Northeast Minneapolis home will feature guided tours, a city proclamation, and Lowry Avenue Bridge lighting.
Theater Latté Da has announced its participation in Doors Open Minneapolis with a daylong public celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the Ritz Theater on May 10, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As part of the citywide event, the company will offer free guided tours of the historic venue, providing visitors with a behind-the-scenes look at the building’s architecture, history, and ongoing role in the Twin Cities arts community.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the theater’s centennial, a formal proclamation from the City of Minneapolis, and complimentary food provided by Involve MN. Additional programming will feature staff-led discussions about the theater’s evolution and future, as well as an evening lighting of the Lowry Avenue Bridge in gold to mark the milestone.
“We’re thrilled to open our doors in such a meaningful way during our 100th year,” said Managing Director Elisa Spencer-Kaplan. “This building has been a creative home for generations of artists and audiences and a cornerstone of the Northeast Minneapolis community.”
