The Theater People Podcast Releases Part 2 of Laura Benanti Interview

On Monday, September 28, the Theater People podcast welcomes back Tony-winner Laura Benanti for part 2 of her interview. The first part of the interview launched earlier this month. In this episode, Benanti discusses her work in the short-lived WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN for which the actress received her fourth Tony nomination. Benanti also discusses her television work including the hugely popular SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE!, NASHVILLE, and the upcoming SUPERGIRL. Additionally, she discussed working with the Radio City Rockettes in last year's SPRING SPECTACULAR, and writing her first book.

Benanti made her Broadway debut in the ensemble of the 1998 production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, she eventually took over the lead role of Maria. She is Tony nominated for her work in SWING, INTO THE WOODS, and WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. She won the Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for her work in the 2008 production of GYPSY. She has also appeared in NINE, THE WEDDING SINGER, and IN THE NEXT ROOM.

In addition to numerous other TV appearances, she played Countess Elsa Scrader in NBC's THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE This season, Laura returns to Broadway in Roundabout Theater Company'sShe Loves Me.
