The NY Neo-Futurists will present Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind at the Cherry Lane Theatre(38 Commerce St.) from November 4th through December 17th.

The show, which was created by Greg Allen comprises 30 plays in 60 minutes. They are written and performed by the NY Neo-Futurists: Desiree Burch, Regie Cabico, Chris Dippel, Molly Flynn, Sarah Levy, Rob Neill, Marta Rainer, Justin Tolley and Yolanda Kaye Wilkinson.

"Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind by the New York Neo-Futurists...is a race-against-the-clock, ever-changing attempt to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes! Every Friday and Saturday night at 10:00 PM, The New York Neo-Futurists will perform their critically acclaimed, energetic show of original short plays—, a non-illusory collage of the comic and tragic, the political and personal, the visceral and experimental, while embracing chance, change, and chaos," state press notes.

"The single unifying element of these plays is that they are performed from a perspective of absolute honesty. The performers always appear as themselves on stage, speaking directly from personal experiences. Each short play is written by a performer, honed by the ensemble, and randomly collaged with twenty-nine other plays through high-energy audience participation. Each week, these plays shift as ensemble members add new plays to the existing body of work."

Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, the longest-running show in Chicago, re-opened in New York in April of 2004, with a new ensemble playing sold-out shows at the Brooklyn Lyceum and The Belt Theater, as well as the Artists of Tomorrow Festival, the Providence Improv Festival, and LadyFest. Additionally, ensemble members have guest-starred on "The Joey Reynolds Show" and "The Derek and Romaine Show," and most recently Regie Cabico was named NYU''s Asian Artist-in-Residence.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 10 pm. Tickets are $10 plus the roll of a six-sided die ($11-$16); call 212.352.3101.
