The Musicals of Musicals will put down its satiric arrows on November 13th; the show is currently playing at Dodgers Stages Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street), where it opened on February 10th, 2005.

With music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart, and a book by both, the show premiered at the York Theatre Company, but transferred upon its success. The show, at closing, will have played 318 performances and 9 previews.

The Musical of Musicals sharply but affectionately skewers the trademark musical conventions in the work of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander and Ebb as a single plotline is threaded through the sounds of each. The show stars the cast that it opened with--Rockwell, Bogart, Lovette George and Craig Fols.
Mary Jo Dondlinger (lighting), John Carver Sullivan (costumes) and James Morgan (sets) comprise the design team.

The Musical of Musicals, which was nominated for a 2004 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, is produced by the York Theatre Company, Melanie Herman, W. David McCoy and Morgan.

With regional theatre rights now up for grabs, the show will receive a number of productions in the near future; The Musical of Musicals is currently running, as well, at the Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia, and will open in the summer of 2006 at the San Francisco Playhouse. A cast recording is available on Jay Records.

Tickets are available by callling (212) 239-6200. Visit www.musicalofmusicals.com for more information.
