The Italian Collection (www.theitaliancollection.com/) released its inaugural "pictorial story" demonstrating "il bello e ben fatto" (the beautiful and well-made) at the heart of this company dedicated to Italy's finest handcrafted wearable art and home accessories.

The Lookbook narrative features a thoughtfully curated capsule collection ranging from stunning belts, jewelry, cashmere shawls, hats and vibrant umbrellas. The Collection is available to US consumers online through The Italian Collection, allowing for a virtual shopping experience that focuses on workshops expanding on a centuries-old tradition of handcraftsmanship.

Ambassadors of all things Italian, founders Myriam Altieri and Cristina Ghisolfi, extend through The Italian Collection their inspiring mission to help Italy's fabled artisans enter the US market and others too through the expansive reach of e-commerce. The Italian Collection's hand-tooled, limited-edition pieces offer an alternative to a brand-driven fashion landscape. On theitaliancollection.com, shoppers will discover custom accessories that will transform ordinary attire into haute couture.

The Lookbook highlights each of the designer-makers on the team and conveys that there is simply something for everyone at The Italian Collection. The pieces defy trends, reflecting instead the renowned Italian attention to detail of exquisite craftsmanship. To discover shopping in Italy, without traveling there, one is merely a click away.

"I have worked for many years on projects promoting the other Made- in-Italy (not a big brand in sight) with different municipal councils and regions," says Cristina Ghisolfi. "The objective has been to showcase the outstanding production of small and medium-size companies that express through their love of craft stunning 'oeuvres', but in some cases are not in a position to export." When Myriam saw images of the items I was trying to promote abroad, she said: 'Why not try to sell them in America?'"
