The Grammy Award winning guitarist and co-founder of the Black Rock Coalition Vernon Reid is probably best known for leading the pioneering rock band Living Colour.
He's worked with a wide variety of experimental musicians -- Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society, Defunkt, Bill Frisell, John Zorn, Arto Lindsay, and Public Enemy, and Masque among others. http://www.myspace.com/vernonreid

FEB. 15 John Jorgenson's Gypsy Jazz and Friends (Desert Rose Band, Elton John)

 

Guitar player John Jorgenson founded the Desert Rose Band with Chris Hillman in the '80s, played in an electric guitar trio called the Hellecasters before joining Elton John's band for six years. He's now known as "the Ambassador of Gypsy Jazz," reviving the music of Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France.

FEB. 22 JEFF ‘SKUNK' BAXTER (Steely Dan, Doobie Bros.)

Jeffrey "Skunk" Baxter has had a long and successful career in the music and entertainment field as a founding member of the group Steely Dan, a member of the Doobie Brothers and as a record producer for such artists as Carl Wilson of The Beach Boys, Nils Lofgrin and The Stray Cats. He has toured with such bands as The Stray Cats, Elton John, Julian Lennon and Linda Ronstadt. He has been a studio musician for 35 years, recording with such artists as Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, Ringo Starr and Rod Stewart and has composed music for movies and television including the original theme for "Beverly Hill 90210", music for "King of the Hill" and scoring for movies like "Bull Durham" and "Roxanne." During that time he has earned over 16 gold and platinum albums, singles and 2 Grammys. He has worked as a design engineer/consultant for Akai, Roland, Audio-Technica and Fender.
