The off-Broadway Daryl Roth Theatre on Union Square has opened a new venue, The D Lounge, which is helping to make the popular venue a complete arts center.

The main theatre, The Daryl Roth is currently getting ready to present the new John Cariani play, Almost, Maine, which begins previews on December 16th. The DR2 Theatre adjacent is in its final weeks of the off-Broadway hit Thom Pain (based on nothing), which is set to close its year long run on December 24th.

The new D Lounge will be a venue for Broadway, theatre and cabaret performances as well as art exhibitions and installations as well as private parties. It recently previewed the space with Broadway's Josie DeGuzman in her show Chemistry as well as doo-wop singer Jimmy Guilford. Upcoming presentations will include Merry Christmas!-The Cherries featuring Grenadine Ross and the Cherries in a musical spoof of Diana Ross and the Supremes; Blue Box World, a short play series consisting of 10-minute plays that all take place in a bar; Singer/Songwriters Michael Messina and Monica Attell; Cause Celeb and jazz singer Vanessa Trouble.

The D Lounge is located at 101 East 15th St, off of Union Square. For ticket, show and booking information call (212) 375-1120.
