The Attic Ensemble, Theater for a New Jersey City, and The Theater Company will hold auditions for a non-union production of WORKING a musical comedy by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso adapted from the book by Studs Terkel. The production will be helmed by Billy Mitchell, Judith Moss and David Zimmerman. Auditions are this Wednesday evening, March 3rd, 7:30-9:30 p.m at the Attic Ensemble, 83 Wayne Street, Jersey City.

Based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the parking lot attendant, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, the trucker, the fireman, the housewife, just to name a few.

Please prepare 32 bars of a song that shows character/personality and a one minute or shorter monologue. Be prepared to read from sides if needed. An accompanist will be provided, please bring sheet music. There are no appointments necessary; auditioners will be seen on a first come/first served basis. There is no pay/no fee. Callbacks will be held 3/6/10 if needed.
Performances are April 23- May 9, 2010. Rehearsals will be held in the evening with weekend rehearsals as needed.

The Attic Ensemble is located just two blocks from the Grove Street PATH Station, in the Historic Barrow Mansion, 83 Wayne Street, Jersey City. There is free parking after 7 p.m. in the parking lot 1 ½ blocks away on Christopher Columbus Drive.
