Saxophonists, clarinetists and identical twin brothers Peter & Will Anderson lead a celebration of the great George Gershwin (1898-1937), whose musical impact is unmatched despite the fact that his entire career spanned just two decades. This show will feature Gershwin gems including "Rhapsody in Blue," "An American in Paris," "Summertime," "Embraceable You," and "They Can't Take That Away from Me." The show will feature vocalist Molly Ryan, drummer/vibraphonist Chuck Redd, pianist Jeb Patton, guitarist Adam Moezinia, and bassist Neal Miner.
"Virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone," (New York Times) Bethesda, Maryland natives Peter and Will Anderson at a very young age were drawn to the music of Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Duke Ellington, and others. They toured the United Kingdom at age 15, and soon attended Juilliard in New York City. Peter and Will have headlined at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, The Blue Note, and the Arizona Music Festival. Their ensemble has performed in thirty five U.S. states, Japan, and featured four times in the famed "Highlights in Jazz" series, performing alongside legends Lou Donaldson, the Jimmy and Tootie Heath, and Wycliffe Gordon. They've released six albums as co-leaders featuring jazz greats Kenny Barron, Paquito D'Rivera, and Bob Wilber, and have been featured on Garrison Keillor's Praire Home Companion.
