The 5th Avenue Theatre has expanded its search for a young actor to play Ralphie, the lead character in its newest holiday show A Christmas Story: The Musical!

Age-appropriate actors (ages 10-13) interested in being considered for the part of Ralphie can audition one of two ways: by submitting an audition video via YouTube or by attending open call auditions in Los Angeles on Friday, October 1st. The 5th Avenue Theatre welcomes and encourages auditions from children of all ethnic and cultural groups.

To Submit a YouTube Audition: Perform one song that shows off your range and personality. We are looking for big, Broadway-style voices. Post your video to YouTube, then send a copy of your link to auditions@5thavenue.org. Be sure to include your name, phone number, and mailing address. PLEASE NOTE: Do not send your video audition directly to this e-mail. Please only send us the link to your video. If we would like to see you for an in-person audition, we will contact you by no later than October 10th.

To Attend Auditions in L.A.: There will be an "open call" audition on Friday, October 1, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Debbie Reynolds Studios. The Studios are located at 6514 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91606. For more details about the L.A. open call, please email Brandon Ivie at bivie@5thavenue.org.

Actors who wish to be considered for Ralphie must be available for all rehearsals and performances, as outlined below:
Rehearsals: Starting October 22, 2010, held at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. Rehearsals continue during the day until December 9 (press opening).
Technical Rehearsals: November 15-25, 2010.
Performances: November 26-December 30, 2010. Shows generally play Tuesday-Sunday with two shows on Saturday and Sunday (some exceptions around the holidays).
