Ted Greenberg to Receive TRU Entrepreneur Award 11/14

TEd Greenberg will receive the TRU Entrepreneur Award at the 2010 TRU Love Benefit Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Caroline's on Broadway (at 49th Street). Theater Resources Unlimited will recognize Mr. Greenberg for his long-running Off Broadway show The Complete Performer with TEd Greenberg.

The Complete Performer has been a downtown staple since it premiered at the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival. Now in his third smash season, Letterman-Emmy-Award-winning writer and comic, TEd Greenberg, cracks all entertainment genres in 70 minutes at the SoHo Playhouse's Huron Club Saturday nights at 10:00 pm. For the show-stopping finale, he drives audience members home in a licensed yellow taxi. The show has been hailed "outrageously funny" by Back Stage and the New York Times raved, "goes by fast and enjoyably."

Veteran Broadway producer Pat Addiss (Promises, Promises; Little Women) and Inside Broadway's Michael Presser will also be honored with the TRU Spirit of Theatre Award and the TRU Humanitarian Award, respectively.

TRU was formed to promote a spirit of cooperation and support within the general theatre community by providing information and a variety of entertainment-related services and resources that strengthen the capacity of producing organizations, individuals producers, self-Producing Artists and other theater professionals.

TRU achieves its mission through 1) maintenance of a member network of producers and other industry professionals in the New York area; 2) linking members to valuable resources both within and beyond the theatrical community, 3) providing public forums for introducing and sharing information, including specific requests for help and support, 4) publishing a printed and electronic newsletter for services, discount offers and other programs of benefit to the membership, 5) providing educational opportunities (including TRU-sponsored events and competitive scholarships) on industry-related topics and training, and 6) serving as producer for selected events that provide practical opportunities to the membership and other theater professionals.
