Stage and screen star Taye Diggs has formed a TV production company with his manager, Abe Hoch.

O-Tay Productions will develop and produce shows in association with Touchstone TV; Diggs currently stars in Touchstone's UPS series "Kevin Hill. The contract will last a year, and will permit the team to act as executive producers on any approved television project.

Best known to theatre audiences for originating the role of Benny in Rent, Diggs will repeat the role in the upcoming feature film adaptation directed by Chris Columbus. He was most recently on Broadway in Wicked; Diggs replaced Norbert Leo Butz (who was on medical leave) to play Fiyero opposite wife Idina Menzel's Elphaba. Other Broadway credits include the 1994 revival of Carousel and Chicago (for which he was a replacement Billy Flynn in 2002). His performance as Black in Andrew Lippa's off-Broadway The Wild Party earned Diggs a 2000 Outer Critics Circle Award nomination.

Digg's film credits include Malibu's Most Wanted, Chicago (in which he played The Bandleader), Brown Sugar, The Way of the Gun, House on Haunted Hill, The Best Man, The Wood, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back; the latter was his screen debut and brought him immediate fame as a talented heartthrob.

Touchstone TV produces such hit shows as Alias, Desperate Housewives, Hope & Faith and Lost.
