BroadwayWorld has just learned that THE TOXIC AVENGER, a musical which ran off Broadway in 2009, might be heading to Broadway at last. A revised version of the musical ran at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2012, with hopes of a Broadway transfer. The project was directed by John Rando and featured music by Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro.

The musical is reportedly aiming for a Broadway run in Fall 2015, with Constantine Maroulis reprising the role of Melvin. An official announcement has not yet been made.

The Toxic Avenger is a zany love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all - an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor, an onstage band, and two guys who play ... well, everyone else ... bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers.

The cast for the Alley Theatre production featured Constantine Maroulis plays Melvin, Nancy Opel as Mayor Babs Belgoody, Mara Davi as Sarah, Toxie's hot love interest, Mitchell Jarvis as White Dude and Antoine L. Smith as Black Dude.
