After filling the grand ballroom of Webster Hall on August 19 for a one-night-only presentation of his burlesque circus rock opera The Life And Death of Kenyon Phillips, theatrical singer-songwriter Kenyon Phillips will switch gears to play a stripped-down set at DROM as part of the 2015 CMJ Music Marathon on October 14 at 9:45 pm.

Highlighting his all-girl orchestral rock band The Ladies in Waiting, Phillips's concert at the snug world music venue DROM promises to be an intimate affair. Whereas the Webster Hall show featured a cast of 25 that included aerialists, acrobats, burlesque performers and Broadway legends like Daphne Rubin-Vega and Cady Huffman, the upcoming CMJ showcase will focus on the songs - and the band - that are at the heart of Phillips's autobiographical rock opera. The Ladies in Waiting are comprised of pianist Mackenzie Shivers, drummer Nikkie McLeod, upright bass player Yuka Tadano, violinist Adriana Molello, and guitarist Erica Miranda.

"Staging the big show at Webster Hall was a major thrill," admits Kenyon, "but I'm excited to bring my focus back to the music." In addition to playing numbers from The Life And Death of Kenyon Phillips, Phillips and his Ladies will debut a handful of new songs along with favorites from Phillips's 2013 EP, Fire in the Hole.

The evening will begin with a solo set by Ladies in Waiting pianist Mackenzie Shivers at 8:15 pm, followed by ironic Americana artist Lance Breakfast - featuring members of The Ladies in Waiting - at 9:00 pm. Kenyon Phillips And The Ladies in Waiting will take the stage at 9:45 pm. Those compelled to stay late will be treated to a DJ set by Phillips starting at 10:45 pm.
