Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with your favorite Broadway stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Teal Wicks who is starring as 'Young Ilene' in Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story- currently playing at the The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

Ragtime. It was my first trip to NYC and it was Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell's final show. At the time I didn't realize how huge that was, but I fell in love with the show and Audra became my idol.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

It evolves from show to show, but it's The basics: vocal warmup, physical warmup that varies depending on the show (foam rollers are a must!), catch up with everyone backstage, and then put on that beat! But before all that, I have coffee...it's my guilty pleasure, but my show just doesn't feel right with out my cup of coffee to kick me into gear.

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

I've had my fair share of "the show must go on" moments. I guess the most memorable one is when I did the national tour of Pippin. It was in the song "With You" where we had a bunch of aerial silk choreography with Pippin and a few girls. Well, when it was my turn to enter for my aerial moment, there was a problem with the fly rigging and my silk couldn't fly in. So instead of doing our lovely soaring silk-ography, I had to walk out to Pippin and improvise some sort of dance. It was. Not. Good. I'm still traumatized by it.

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

Ah, there's so many and they keep evolving! Right now...I'm really drawn to Queenie in The Wild Party...and I can't pick between Lippa's or LaChiusa's because both are fantastic and different interpretations of the story; the characters are fascinating.

Who is your Broadway crush?

Audra McDonald

Where can people 'stalk' you online?

I am such a boring person to stalk online. I'm pretty old school with technology and social media makes me anxious. Luckily, I have some awesome fans that are super active online TWickies you can follow them @FansOfTealWicks. You can follow me @TealWicks for my once in blue moon posts about shows or random things that make me smile like dogs and coffee:)
