Craig Smith directs a new staging of Tartuffe in David Ball's dynamic adaptation, which was developed originally for Theatre de la Jeune Lune. A comedy about religious hypocrisy, Tartuffe follows a wealthy man, Orgon, who brings home a religious con-man, Tartuffe, who systematically arranges a wedding with Orgon's daughter, seduces Organ's wife, convinces Orgon to sign over to him Orgon's house and fortune.

The anniversary party is a vital component of The Wild Project's continuing efforts to provide artists with affordable space and enrich the community. As part of the benefit night, TWP is honoring groundbreaking theater company Big Art Group. Big Art Group is a NewYork based experimental performance ensemble founded by Caden Manson and Jemma Nelson in 1999. Big Art Group uses language and media to push formal boundaries of theatre, film and visual arts; it creates culturally transgressive works and innovative performances using original text, technology and experimental methods of communication.

All proceeds from the party will benefit The Wild Project's numerous sponsorship initiatives, such as; the International Human Rights Festival, The Current Sessions, Queer Theater Initiative, East Village Queer Film Festival, Theater Throwdown, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble and many others.
