TADA! YOUTH THEATER, the Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning organization, will host a live fundraising event and performance on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. The event will be at the Midtown Loft and Terrace (267 Fifth Avenue, 11th Floor, between 29th and 30th). Tickets are $25-$1000 and available at tadatheater.com.

The fundraising efforts, which include the live event on Sunday, March 4th and an on-line auction with Bidding for Good (February 14 – March 6), will help TADA! continue to fulfill their mission of providing young people of all different backgrounds, including a large number of disadvantaged children and families, the opportunity to explore and perform musical theater together in an educational, supportive and professional environment. Last year’s auction raised vital funds which helped TADA! reach 40,000 children and families through original musical theater productions, arts education and youth development programs. Current offerings include Disney trips, private sessions with Broadway and Nickelodeon casting directors; and television tapings tickets (including SNL and Live with Kelly! as well as others) with backstage passes. Link to auction will be available from tadatheater.com as of 2/14.

Currently at TADA! Youth Theater (15 West 28th St. 2nd Fl.) is The History Mystery with book and direction by Janine Nina Trevens, music by Eric Rockwell, and lyrics by Margaret Rose. A Back Stage critic’s pick that, “delivers bushels of laughs, a genuine emotional kick, and a clever dramatization of why history matters to all of us!” A musical time travel adventure--Meet Martin Luther King Jr., Eleanor Roosevelt, the Wright Brothers and other characters when they were children. Imagine how events from their childhoods could have shaped them into the adults they became – the adults who helped to form the world, as we know it today. Culture Catch said it “kept me engaged, delighted and ever exhilarated!”

Also at TADA!: week-long musical theater camps will run on standard school breaks including the NYC public school break February 20-24. Kids stay engaged and artistic while away from school, Monday – Friday, 9AM-2:30PM. Cost is $450 and “Afternoon Adventures” program can be extended to 5:30 for working parents and interested kids.
