Symphony Space Gala to Honor Harold Prince in Musical Tribute; Danny Burstein Will Host

Symphony Space's 2015 gala will celebrate Broadway impresario Harold Prince with a star-studded musical tribute to the legendary 21 time Tony Award® winning producer/director at 6:30 on May 18 at Capitale.

Danny Burstein will host the evening, which will feature performances by Kate Baldwin, Sierra Boggess, Santino Fontana, Jeremy Jordan, Ramin Karimloo, Norm Lewis, Rebecca Luker, Laura Osnes, and Chita Rivera. More performers will be announced soon.

Gala co-chairs include Claire Aidem, Theodore S. Chapin, James Naughton, and Jeremy Smith. The honorary co-chairs are Jason Robert Brown, Carol Burnett, Sheldon Harnick, John Kander, Linda Lavin, Stephen Sondheim, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Prince directed the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, She Loves Me, Company, Follies, Candide, Pacific Overtures, Evita, Parade, LoveMusik, and Paradise Found. Before becoming a director, Prince's productions included The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello! and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Among the plays he has directed are Hollywood Arms, The Visit, The Great God Brown, End of the World, Play Memory and his own play, Grandchild of Kings. He prepared a new version of Phantom, which is running in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel. He is the recipient of 21 Tony Awards.
