Sutherland, Hurt to Star in New Web Series: THE CONFESSION

According to EW.com, Kiefer Sutherland  and John Hurt will star in a Hulu-bound web series entitled, The Confession. Set to premiere in March, the series will be comprised of 10 five minute episodes. Sutherland will play 'a hitman who has a theological discussion with a priest about why his victims deserved to die.'

Sutherland told EW, "I was meeting a couple friends of mine, who wanted to introduce me to Chris Young. I know so little about the internet, but that's what a lot of friends do for work. Most of that stuff being produced for the internet is comedy, very much like Jackass kind of material, which is great but didn't appeal to me.

"Chris started talking about wanting to do a drama, but his criteria was so different. A drama in five-minute episodes! It was one of those things, like a puzzle over the course of the lunch. It can't be that complicated to figure out a story in five minutes, right? I couldn't, and it frustrated the crap out of me. So I went home that night, still thinking about it, and it stayed with me for three days. I was falling asleep when I literally got this idea of a confessional."

Kiefer Sutherland will soon be heading to Broadway to star in THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON opposite Chris Nothn and Brian Cox. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jack Bauer on the Fox thriller drama series 24. He is an Emmy Award and Golden Globe award-winner.

John Hurt is known for his leading roles as John Merrick in The Elephant Man, Timothy Evans in 10 Rillington Place; Winston Smith in Nineteen Eighty-Four, Mr. Braddock in The Hit, Stephen Ward in Scandal and Quentin Crisp in The Naked Civil Servant and An Englishman in New York.  he has appeared on stage in The Importance of Being Earnest, The Caretaker, and The Seagull.
