Stanek to Step in for McElroy in Love/Perfect/Change

Jim Stanek will return to the cast of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change on Monday, April 9 for two weeks only through April 22.  He is stepping in for Bryan McElroy, who is recuperating from a minor knee injury.  Stanek joins cast members Courtney Balan, Anne Bobby and Will Erat in the love-happy hit musical, which is now playing in its 11th smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).

Stanek has appeared on Broadway in Lestat, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Rivals, Little Women, and Indiscretions.  His Off-Broadway credits include Jacques Brel..., Slut, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Saturday Night, and Captains Courageous. He most recently starred in the acclaimed Kennedy Center revival of Carnival.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is the second longest-running Off-Broadway musical of all time, after The Fantasticks.  Additional productions have been mounted in more than 400 cities worldwide.  

Written by playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro and composer Jimmy Roberts, the musical is "a celebration of the modern-day suburban mating game as it explores the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws," according to press materials.  The show opened at the Westside Theatre on August 1, 1996.

For the first time ever in U.S. history, a foreign language production of an American musical will play in the United States when the hit Chinese production of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change opens at the Westside Theatre on Wednesday, May 9.   The Chinese company will perform the show entirely in Mandarin with English supertitles projected above the stage and they will alternate performances with the American cast for four weeks only through Sunday, June 3.

 The playing schedule is Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 & 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 & 7 p.m.
