There's nothing better than getting a great deal on tickets to a fantastic Tuacahn musical - unless of course it's a great deal on tickets and a chance to help people at the same time.

During Tuacahn's annual Back-to-School Sale, Aug. 8 to Sept. 10, patrons can enjoy up to 50 percent off tickets to select performances of Wonderland, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins. In addition, patrons are encouraged to bring healthy, non-perishable food items to the Amphitheatre to donate to Utah Food Bank.

"It's one nonprofit helping another nonprofit," Kevin Smith, Tuacahn CEO, said of the unique partnership. "It's a wonderful way for Tuacahn to give back to the community, and for the community itself to take care of those in need."

Currently 39,000 Southern Utahns, including one in five children, are unsure of where their next meal will come from, according to Utah Food Bank. Thanks to skyrocketing inflation, those numbers are not likely to go down anytime soon.

"Donations like the ones being collected at Tuacahn could be the difference between a family having to choose between putting food on the table and putting gas in their car to get to work," said Ginette Bott, president and CEO of Utah Food Bank. "So many families are living right on the edge of needing help feeding their families and every meal provided is an opportunity to provide hope."

Food donations are not required in order to receive the ticket discount during the Back to School Sale, but Tuacahn officials hope audiences will see this as an opportunity to give back when they come to any Tuacahn performance during the sale.

"All the donations made at Tuacahn will go directly to our warehouse in St. George to be distributed amongst our 40 partner agencies located in the six southernmost counties in the state," Bott said. "Last year we distributed the equivalent of 5.4 million meals throughout our Southern Distribution Center, and 58.5 million meals across the state."

Don't miss your chance to save up to 50 percent on select performances, and enjoy all the magic this season at Tuacahn. For more details on sale prices and select dates, log onto www.tuacahn.org or call the box office at 435-652-3300.
