Spangler, Nichols, Craig Join 'The Fantasticks' July 30

The Fantasticks will welcome Nick Spangler to the role of "Matt," Jordan Nichols to the role of "The Mute" and Julie Craig to the role of "Luisa" on Monday, July 30th at the Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street at Broadway) in the newly dedicated Jerry Orbach Theater.   Mr. Spangler replaces American Idol finalist Anthony Fedorov who completed his engagement Sunday, July 29th.  Mr. Nichols replaces Mr. Spangler in the role of "The Mute" and Julie Craig returns to the company after an engagement as "Maria" in Barrington Stage's production of West Side Story.

The musical opened on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at New York's Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street at Broadway).  The beloved, musical love story features music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom JonesMr. Jones also directs.

The trio joins the current cast of The Fantasticks which includesThomas Bruce ("Henry"), John Deyle ("Hucklebee"), Burke Moses ("El Gallo"), Robert R. Oliver ("Mortimer") and Martin Vidnovic as ("Bellomy").

The show is produced by Steven Baruch, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel and Thomas Viertel.

Craig's credits include Barrington Stage Company – West Side Story (Maria), NY City Center Encores!-The Apple Tree, Bye Bye Birdie; NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players-The Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, etc. Tours: Maria/Rosalia in West Side Story (International). Regional: Kim MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie (Westchester Broadway), Fame (North Shore). Proud NYU graduate and member of AEA.

Spangler has been seen Off-Broadway: The Mute in The Fantasticks.  Regional: Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Matt in The Fantasticks (The Gateway Playhouse), Doody in Grease! (Forestburgh Playhouse).  Training: CAP21 at NYU where he played Bat Boy in Bat Boy: the musical! and Jaime in The Last Five Years. Nick is a proud member of AEA.

Nichols is thrilled to making his Off-Broadway debut in The Fantasticks. Regional Credits include Tulsa in Gypsy; Bobby in Urinetown; Younger Brother in Ragtime; Ugly in Honk! and Billy in The Goat or Who is Sylvia.
