South Pacific Special To Be Rebroadcast on WABC 5/25

WABC-TV will rebroadcast their 30-minute TV special, A SALUTE TO "RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S SOUTH PACIFIC," this Sunday morning, May 25 at 5:30 AM.

A SALUTE TO "RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN"S SOUTH PACIFIC", which is hosted by 5pm Eyewitness News anchor Sade Baderinwa, gives viewers a rare behind-the-scenes look at Lincoln Center Theater's critically acclaimed smash hit revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC.   The special features interviews with the show's stars Kelli O'Hara, Paulo Szot, Matthew Morrison, Danny Burstein and Loretta Ables Sayre, director Bartlett Sher; Mary Rodgers Guettel (daughter of composer Richard Rodgers) as well as rarely seen footage of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and performance footage featuring the musical's original stars Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Thursday, April 3 and was recently nominated for 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and won 5 Drama Desk and 4 Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Musical Revival.  The original cast recording of the Lincoln Center Theater production will be released by Sony Masterworks on May 27.
