Sketch Comedy Game Show to Celebrate Women's History Month at BLB
For the third year in a row, Women's History Month is being celebrated with the part sketch comedy, part game show Women's History Month: The Historical Comedybration (with fabulous prizes) playing at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, March 12th and 19th at 7pm.
The show incorporates important and influential women from history into an evening of education, satire and interactive audience games with fabulous prizes.
Starting in March of 2013, Women's History Month: The Historical Comedybration (with fabulous prizes) adds new sketches and games each year. This is the third year of the celebratory satirical comedy show.
Women's History Month: The Historical Comedybration (with fabulous prizes) is part sketch comedy and part game show and all parts women's history. Women's History Month takes a playful look at historical women with comedic sketches and monologues. In addition, the show also features interactive audience games like "Truth or Dare" and historically accurate obstacle courses to involve the audience learning trivia about women in America's history and, of course, to win fabulous prizes!
"I wanted to deflated the sacredness out of women's history month" says the creator of the show, Heather Meyer. " Women's history's doesn't have to be a delicate thing and can handle being laughed at and with. Plus is makes learning about these iconic women way more fun. The show is a comedybration because it is exactly that part comedy show part celebration of women's history!"
The show is created by Heather Meyer, a fringe festival veteran with shows such as WAITRIX: Dominatrix Waitress (2014), RT+ MPLS: The Legend of R.T. Rybak (2013), Merblades: Memoirs of a James Cameron (2012) and Your Responsibility for Sex Failure (2011). The sketches are written and performed by Heather Meyer, Leslie Vincent, Shannon Troy Jones, Emily Schmidt, Kelsey Cramer. The show is produced by Black Market Doctor, Heather Meyer's production company.
