Opening tonight – Monday, March 7th at 8:00 pm. Commedia del arté meets the Looney Tunes in Holly Golden's Servant of Two Masters, a fast-paced, punky update of the Italian comedy classic. Play Practice Theater Company and THiS Theatre Company present this new adaptation at PS122 Downstairs, 150 First Avenue (at 9th Street). Previews began Saturday, March 5th. The colorful production is directed by Holly Golden, with set and lighting design by Owen Hughes, costume design by Jessica Gaffney, and sound design by Ryan Streber. The cast includes Amanda Brown, Dennis Fox, Karl Gregory, Khris Lewin, John Pieza, Reuben Saunders, Dara Seitzman, Leigh Williams and Justin Yorio for the limited engagement.

Wily servant Truffaldino attempts to slake the demands of his insatiable stomach by secretly taking on two jobs with two separate masters. Twice the work means twice the food, right? But what Truffaldino doesn't know is that his masters - whom he must keep apart at all costs to succeed in his double-dealing plan - are actually looking for each other… Confusion abounds in this comedy of sex, deception, food, and drag in sunny cartoon Italy.

Founded in 2002, Play Practice Theater Company produces new, innovative performance that seeks to explore the unique and singularly powerful qualities of theater. To this end, PPTC eschews realistic, "kitchen sink drama" in favor of explosive, physical, outlandish, experimental plays that use camp and humor to subtly put across cultural critiques. Play Practice's inaugural production, The Other Dorothy, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love OZ, played an acclaimed sold-out engagement last summer at The Duplex Cabaret.

THiS Theatre Company, founded in 2003, is an ensemble of performers dedicated to bringing exciting new dramatic writing to life on the New York stage. Past productions include Michael Murphy's The Debating Society, which played to critical and audience acclaim in January 2004 at Altered Stages, and Radio 4B, which enjoyed a successful run last July at the Connelly Theater.

Holly Golden (Artistic Director / Resident Playwright PPTC) is Associate Producer for Russell Projects, the new independent producing organization founded in 2004 by Mark Russell, former PS122 Artistic Director. With Russell, Golden produced the Under the Radar festival in January 2005, which featured performances by The Civilians, Elevator Repair Service, Big Dance Theater, and the Foundry Theatre. Golden is also a recent New York State Council on the Arts grant recipient for her Chekhov-based solo performance pieces, Masha, Masha, Masha! and Come and Take It. Last summer she produced the first revival of Anne Washburn's The Internationalist for 13P at the new Fairfield Theatre, in Fairfield, CT, as well as her own one-act play, The Other Dorothy, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love OZ, at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Golden has worked at many respected New York and regional venues as a playwright, producer, and/or performer, including PS 122, St. Ann's Warehouse, Dixon Place, The Drama League, and Chashama. She holds an MA in Performance Studies from New York University and a BA in Theatre Studies and Cognitive Psychology from Cornell University, and has studied with Anne Bogart's Siti Company, Simon McBurney's Theatre de Complicite, and the British American Dramatic Academy.

Performances of "Servant of Two Masters" are Wednesdays – Sundays at 8:00 pm through March 26th. Tickets are only $15.00. Call (212) 477-5288 or visit ticketweb.com.
