Secret Theatre & The Dirty Blondes to Stage THE MIRACLE PLAY, 9/4-9/8

Following the award-winning Dirty Blondes production, THE AMERICAN PLAY, playwright Ashley Jacobson puts pen to paper once again for The Miracle Play, a world premiere co-produced by The Dirty Blondes and The Secret Theater. THE MIRACLE PLAY follows a young woman, played by Remy Bennett (The Wolf of Wall Street), through her fall from grace, her struggle with the morbid nature of celebrity, and her journey to find peace.

In this epic drama inspired by a 1911 pantomime, The Miracle, staged by Max Reinhardt, Connie lives in a "different Manhattan", a colorfully chaotic, dystopian, ravaged NYC. The sole survivor of a school shooting, she labors to find her place in Catholic school, constantly surrounded by media scrutiny. Encounters with those enchanted by her story lead her to follow a Student, an Artist, a Doctor, and a Politician, all who pull her further down the rabbit hole with their beliefs and attempts at being her savior. As her world quickly spirals out of control, she is left broken and alone, finding her way back to the flood waters at Houston Street where hope returns with a small act of kindness. Pulling inspiration from national news headlines and popular celebrity culture, this limited run will leave you with a unique perspective on what it means to be saved.
