Debra Monk ("NYPD Blue", Steel Pier, Picnic, "The Devil's Advocate", Redwood Curtain)  will star in a reading of a new play by Jeff Whitty (co-author of Avenue Q),  Suicide Weather.

What do you do when your frustrated Mom lives in a dream world, fancying herself a Noel Coward character when she more often resembles Medea? Or when your Dad prefers to read books about serial killers than talk to his family?  Suicide Weather  is a comedy about unfulfilled dreams and overwhelming expectations, and the titillating hope that a healing moment could be right around the corner.

The Artists Showcase Series was created by Geoffrey Soffer to present readings of plays and musicals, as well as concerts featuring stars of Broadway, Cabaret, TV and Film. Proceeds from each event will go to a selected charity chosen by the artists.
