Jesse Swimm is ready to go onstage at a moments notice for ten different roles in Broadway's School of Rock. He stopped by Actors Connection this week to talk at their young performers at "Camp Hamilton" - 3-day 'Hamilton'-inspired musical program, and shared the ins and outs of life as a "swing" on Broadway. Watch his Q&A below!

Swimm describes the job of a swing and his experiences in this video. At one point, Swimm takes out his iPad and shows track sheets for each character he covers in Webber's latest hit, giving the acting program's fresh faces a peek at his process and performance prep. He has to be extremely organized to cover all ten roles efficiently and also watches the production many times to follow and learn each track.

Towards the end he gives advice to the aspiring actors, "Don't think of your career as being successful because you made it to Broadway. Broadway is not the end of this career...as long as you're happy with what you do, and being creative, and instill that joy in others, that's success."

"Camp Hamilton" is one of Actors Connection's Kids & Teens summer programs created by Director Walid Chaya with noteworthy industry guests from Broadway and film/TV. Over three days, young actors ages 7-16 learn audition pieces from shows like 1776, Parade, In The Heights, and Broadway's latest hit, Hamilton, with acting activities inspired by the colonial era. "Our performers have such a good time, they don't even notice they're learning," says Chaya. The program set in a casting studio offers both beginners and pros a real-world experience in a creative and educational environment.

In addition to meeting Jesse Swimm, participants also receive private coaching from Cindi Rush, Casting Director known for Broadway/Off-Broadway's Urinetown, Say Goodnight Gracie, Ruthless, Silence! and many more, plus feature films. Then on the third and final day, they perform for Agent Dina Torre from Generation TV, New York based talent agency with clients in print, theater and film/TV shows including Pixels, Two and a Half Men, Annie, Gotham, Mr. Robot and more.

Next week, Actors Connection's weeklong Performing Arts Camp returns with two new Broadway stars confirmed to make a guest appearance, Douglas Baldeo (Kinky Boots, Motown) and Josh Tower (Lion King, Ragtime, Motown). A group of 24 Kids & Teens will meet Baldeo and Tower as well as 10 additional industry pro's and shoot three original short films directed by Chaya.
