On Wednesday, May 11th, Morgan Karr will officially release his much-anticipated debut EP. An actor, singer and songwriter hailing from Nashville Tennessee, Karr's first release comes after quickly making his mark on the New York City entertainment scene.

In 2009, Karr joined the cast of the groundbreaking pop musical "Spring Awakening" on Broadway, which went on to win 8 Tony Awards. In 2010, he won first place at the legendary "Amateur Night At The Apollo" in Harlem, and soon after, he began performing his original music to sold-out audiences in New York and L.A.

Karr's three-song, self-titled EP will be released digitally (iTunes/Amazon) on May 11th, 2011, and is co-produced by Grammy Nominated Producer Juan Patiño (Lisa Loeb's "Stay"), Cliff Goldmacher (Jane Monheit, Spencer Day), and Kevin Fisher (Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans).

In anticipation of the release, Morgan will be participating in an exclusive preview event with FAN TIME LIVE! on May 10th, from 10pm -11pm EST, just one hour before his EP is to hit iTunes. The event will be live-streamed at www.fantimelive.com, featuring an interview, performance, Q&A with the viewers, and a sneak peek listening party of the new EP.

In celebration of the new record, Morgan will also be returning to Joe's Pub on Friday, May 13th (11pm) for a release concert that will feature more of Morgan's original material, his twist on hits by One Republic, Bruno Mars, and The Fugees, and a selection of special guests, including Catherine Brookman (Hair), Starr Busby (Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens) and Carrie Manolakos (Wicked, Mamma Mia).

Adding a full band set-up to his soaring vocals, Karr will showcase his soulful pop/rock sound alongside Justin Goldner (bass, musical director), Alison Seidner (cello), Adam Stoler (guitar), Drew McKean (drums), and James Olmstead (keys). The show will also feature video projections by James Daniel.

"I'm excited to finally release my debut EP," says Karr, "I feel like these three songs capture everything I want the world to know right now. We're not perfect. We make mistakes. And ultimately, we are always moving forward. The whole process of getting this first EP together has both challenged and thrilled me every step of the way. May 11th is really just the beginning."

Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street (between East 4th Street and Astor Place). Tickets are $15 and include a complimentary download of Morgan's new EP upon entry at the event, and are available for purchase at www.JoesPub.com. For reservations, phone 212-539-8778.
