Whether your child is an aspiring performer, or just wants to build confidence and make new friends, STADA provides a fun and safe environment for every skill level. Each class begins with warm-up games, and continues with an exploration of simple techniques on how to build a character, to deliver a monologue, to work as a team for group scenes, as well as rehearsal for the final showcase. Each semester, the students work towards a showcase which is performed the weekend before summer recess and during the holiday week in December.

Performing Arts High School Auditions

We have a great track record of assisting students with applications to schools like Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, La Guardia Performing Arts High School, PPAS, Talent Unlimited, and more. If your child is trying out for Drama, Musical Theatre, or Vocal Studios at these schools, we strongly advise that you consider booking one-on-one classes with us. We explain the audition process for these schools, along with helping the student choose the correct audition piece for their voice and personality, and then how to present it. Considering the competition for placement is tough, it is wise to attain as much extra coaching as possible!

New Classes

We are pleased to announce some new class offerings this semester. Last semester, we introduced Senior Film and produced our first teen-acted short movie Ghostlight. We aim to continue this class, and this term's project is tentatively titled Have You Seen Harry?, which is a buddy-style adventure about Harry Potter-obsessed teens in search of Daniel Radcliffe at Coney Island.

New to the coming semester are:

Broadway Tap for young students on Wednesday afternoon after school (subject to demand). This is a great fun skill for all aspiring actors to learn.

Broadway Song for students to safely learn the way to produce a Belt, Mix, and Legit voice for theatre. This is a little different to opera or regular singing lessons, as we will focus on popular Broadway musical numbers.

Trial Classes?

Not sure? We offer one free trial class to any new student and parent who are uncertain if the class is a good fit. Usually we can offer these closer to the beginning of the semester and may not be able to accommodate a free class if we are in production for the showcases later in the semesters. No free trial for the Film Class, although we would consider allowing an observer student to audit the class.

Vacation Days, Sickness, Refunds

There are no refunds for individual classes missed due to family commitments, illness, or other reasons. Once a semester has begun, we do not offer refunds for students that leave the class.
