Ryan Murphy teased details about the highly anticipated sixth season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY during Sunday's PaleyFest panel on the FX drama series. The executive producer revealed he is currently considering two distinct ideas for the horror series' next installment. "The interesting thing about this season is we've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done," he said. "So I don't want to say what it maybe is.... Both things that we're writing right now - we haven't declared a winner - will have a different form, so we're excited about that. We'll talk about it soon, but we haven't landed on it yet."

He went on to share that the creative team has been influenced by "the opera" and "children", explaining that he's fascinated with horror that "often deals with the innocence of children, and their wide-eyed way into it." He added, "Both [season six] ideas we're working with have elements of children," and teased, "It will have a different form than we've ever done."

Asked which cast members will return for the upcoming season, Murphy gestured to his co-panelists Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock and Cheyenne Jackson, and teased, "I will tell you that every darling person up here that wants to come back can come back."

He continued, "It's a definite universe where all the worlds are colliding. I would love more and more of that as we go along." He also shared his wish that AHS continues on for "decades and decades."

Season six of AMERICAN HORROR STORY is tentatively scheduled to premiere in October on FX.
