RENT alumnus Ryan Link has released his own recording of the anthemic "One Song Glory", including two club-friendly remixes and an a cappella dance mix of the song.

Producers Sidh Solanki and Tim Kvasnosky (aka DutchKash) were recruited for remix duties. "Sidh's Buffalo Bill Mix is more commercial, Cher-inspired, with the vocals way out front, while the Dutch Dirty mix is more underground classic dub house, a la Depeche Mode," said Link, adding "I love them both for different reasons." Track 4 is an a cappella version of the Dutch Dirty Mix.

Link, who played Roger in the Broadway production of RENT, was in the studio recording tracks for his debut solo album when he decided to lay down his own "Glory."

He left the show due to vocal health issues in November 2003, but quickly made a full recovery and claims to be singing "better than ever. It was a huge learning experience. I now know how to take care of my cords, how not to oversing and blow it out when doing 8 shows a week! Like an athletic monk: lots of quiet time, water, herbal tea and exercise" are some of the necessities of the Broadway lifestyle, he quipped.

Link has since appeared regionally in Jesus Christ Superstar (Kansas City Starlight), HAIR (Barrington Stage) and I Want My '80s Musical! (Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma), and will be featured on the upcoming WB-TV series "The Bedford Diaries".

Link's original rock version of "One Song Glory", on which he plays guitar, bass and drums, is just two-and-a-half minutes long, mimicking the version in the show. The extended dance versions stretch from 5 to 7 minutes.

The release of One Song Glory + Remixes coincided with opening weekend of the RENT movie. Link's release is on his own independent label and is not affiliated the film, its cast or Sony Pictures. The song was written by Jonathan Larson, and is used under license from EMI Music Publishing.

Club and radio DJs may write to glory@ryanlink.com to obtain promotional copies of the tracks. The CD single is available at cdbaby.com/ryanlink, and mp3s may be purchased at ryanlink.com/store. Samples may be streamed at MySpace.com/ryanlinkmusic. Link's debut solo album is scheduled for an early 2006 release.
