On October 30th, two-time Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega will celebrate the release of her new album "Redemption Songs" (Sh-k-Boom Records) at The Cutting Room.  The concert will begin at 7:30 PM.

"With her multifaceted acting career and some incredible theatre projects ahead of her, Rubin-Vega's latest endeavor is 'Redemption Songs,' a vibrant and sophisticated collection of pop, Latin folk, rock and reggae influenced songs that are soulful, passionate and from the heart," according to press notes.

Rubin-Vega created the role of Mimi in the original cast of Rent, a role that won her a Theater World Award as well as Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations as Best Actress in a musical. She also received a Tony nomination for her performance in Anna in the Tropics, and has also appeared as Magenta in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  Off-Broadway credits include Everythings Turning Into Beautiful, while film credits include Wild Things and Flawless.  She will next play Fantine in the upcoming revival of Les Miserables, and in January of 2007, will star with Academy Award-winner Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the Public Theater/LAByrinth production of Bob Glaudini's Jack Goes Boating.

The Cutting Room is located at 19 West 24th Street (between Broadway & 6th Avenue). For tickets ($12 in advance/$15 at the door) call (212) 691-1900. More information can be found at www.thecuttingroomnyc.com.
