According to Variety, the Royal Court Theatre's recent revival of the Anton Chekhov classic The Seagull, which played the London theatre at the early part of this year, may be bound for Broadway in early 2008.

Oscar-nominated English Patient star Kristin Scott Thomas (Olivier Award-nominee for The Three Sisters) starred as actress Arkadina in the play, which concerns the romantic entangements and regrets of a group of artists, writers and actors on a Russian estate.  Thomas was joined by, among others, Mackenzie Crook (the Pirates of the Caribbean films), who played her dreamer son Konstantin.

The Royal Court production, was helmed by Ian Rickson (the Royal Court's departing artistic director), and featured Christopher Hampton's (Dangerous Liaisons, Sunset Boulevard) translation of the play.   The production will not move to the West End.
