Nancy Drewinsky and the Search for the Missing Letter, written and performed by Robin Bady, will be a part of the 2017 United Solo on September 21, 2017 at 7:30pm. Loren Niemi directs the piece, which is based on a true story.

When Robin Bady's father is accused of being a Communist spy and U.S. traitor in the 1950's, no one ever said what that meant for her and her family. Putting her fears aside, she seeks the truth...wherever it is. Robin's account of a not-that-long-ago turbulent past is deeply personal, uniquely compelling and rings an uneasy bell of recognition today.

Robin Bady is published in Storytelling Across the Curriculum and Storytelling Magazine. Currently, she is a co-founder of The National G.H.O.S.T. Project, which teaches young people to research, write and perform ghost stories. Robin hosts the BADYHouse Storytelling Concerts in Brooklyn and curates the annual Governor's Island Storytelling Festival in New York Harbor. She is the recipient of the JJ Reneaux Emerging Artist Award and the Oracle Award for Leadership and Service for the MidAtlantic Region of NSN.

Director Loren Niemi has also been a Humanities Scholar in Residence for Northern Minnesota, the ringmaster and tour manager of In the Heart of the Beast Puppet & Mask Theatre's Circle of Water Circus, and one third of BAD JAZZ, a performance art trio with Michael Sommers and Kevin Kling, experimenting with new theatrical and storytelling forms. He has a BA (Philosophy and Studio Arts) from St. Mary's College (Winona, MN) and a MA in Liberal Studies (American Culture) from Hamline University (St. Paul, MN). He teaches Storytelling in the Communications Department of Metropolitan State University (St. Paul, MN) as well as providing storytelling workshops, corporate and organizational consulting around the country.

2017 United Solo is the world's largest solo theatre festival, currently in its eighth season.
