Richard Lewis to Bring Stand-Up to Ridgefield Playhouse, 10/18

From his HBO and Showtime stand-up specials, to his recurring roles on shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm and Everybody Hates Chris, it's no wonder that Richard Lewis was listed as one of Comedy Central's top 50 stand-up comedians of all time. On Friday, October 18, at 8 p.m., you'll get to see why when Richard Lewis headlines at The Ridgefield Playhouse. Special guest is Mike Jacobs, known for his sidesplitting edgy brand of observational comedy. Bissell House (378 Main Street, Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine or draft beer with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. Richard Lewis was on GQ Magazine's list of the "20th Century's Most Influential Humorists". He is arguably the originator of the phrase "The XX from hell" as in "The date from hell" or "The roommate from hell". His current role on Larry David's acclaimed Curb Your Enthusiasm is a character based on himself. In 1989, Lewis achieved a very personal goal: He performed at Carnegie Hall to a standing room only audience. "Richard Lewis may just be the Franz Kafka of modern day comedy," praised Mel Brooks.
