According to the Toronto Star, Ramin Karimloo is expected to star in Theatre 20's production of Company as Bobby in January 2013, when he would make his Toronto-area theatre debut.

“At first I was worried about the idea," Karimloo told the Star. “Stephen Sondheim’s music is tough and it scares me. But the kind of things that Bobby deals with I can understand…When I heard that Gary Griffin was going to be in charge, that helped a whole lot. I knew I had to be a part of it.”

Karimloo was "discovered" for the part when he sang at the Little Lake MusicFest in Peterborough on July 7 this year and Theatre 20's Artistic Director Adam Brazier was in the audience.

A native Canadian, Karimloo has appeared on the West End in Sunset Boulevard, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies, but the actor has never performed in the Toronto Area.

Before his possible appearance in Company, Karimloo launches his CD "Human Heart" on Sony Masterworks on August 28 and appears at the Rose Theatre on September 7. There is also speculation that Karimloo will appear as Jean Valjean in the 25th anniversary version of Les Mis when it begins its run in Toronto.
