ROCK OF AGES to Open at Woodstock Opera House with Theatre 121

Theatre 121 will present Rock of Ages, running June 19-28 at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock, IL. Tickets range from $17-$35.

Set on L.A.'s legendary Sunset Strip in 1987, Rock of Ages is a hilarious, high-energy musical that tells the story of small-town girl Sherrie Christian and aspiring rocker Drew Boley as they chase fame, love, and their dreams beneath the glow of neon lights and screaming guitar solos. When developers threaten to tear down the iconic Bourbon Room, a group of rockers, dreamers, and misfits must band together to save the club and the music scene they love.

Packed with iconic 1980s rock anthems, Rock of Ages delivers a night of powerhouse vocals, outrageous comedy, over-the-top characters, and nonstop energy. Equal parts rock concert and musical comedy, the show celebrates the era of big dreams, big hair, and even bigger ballads.

Since premiering on Broadway, Rock of Ages has become a worldwide hit celebrated for its electrifying music, tongue-in-cheek humor, and unapologetically fun atmosphere.

"Rock of Ages reminds us of a time when music felt like everything," said director Karen Shuman. "It's loud, hilarious, nostalgic, and full of heart. We've tried to capture the excitement, chaos, and energy of the 80s rock scene while inviting audiences to relive (or discover) what made that era unforgettable."

This production contains mature language, sexual innuendo, depictions of alcohol and recreational drug use, suggestive choreography, loud music, strobe lighting, and theatrical haze. Parental discretion is advised.
