RENT Extends Deadline for Online "Finale B" Contest

The Broadway production of Rent is hosting an online video contest to find and celebrate the musical's most devoted fans. Now through Monday, August 11, Rent fans across the United States who are 18 years of age and older may submit a two-minute video entry on Rent's official website, www.SiteForRent.com, demonstrating their love and passion for the Tony Award-winning musical that will close on Broadway on Sunday, September 7.
Fifty winners will be invited to join the closing weekend celebration of Rent. Each winner will attend the matinee performance on Saturday, September 6 and will receive an invitation to attend a party at Life Café in the East Village the real setting of the show's Act I finale "La Vie Bohème" on Friday, September 5. During the Life Café party, one of the 50 video contest winners will win a pair of tickets to the final performance of Rent on September 7 via a lottery drawing.
Rent, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, opened at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre, on April 29, 1996 following a history making, sold out, extended limited engagement at off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop. The musical went on to win every major best musical award, including the Tony Award, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Rent is the seventh longest running show in Broadway history. Rent is scheduled to close on Sunday, September 7.
