'Purple' Star Withers' Joe's Pub Concert is Cancelled

Due to circumstance beyond its control, Joe's Pub's previously-announced concert featuring The Color Purple star Elisabeth Withers has been cancelled. 

The concert was to have taken place on December 4th.  Withers plays Shug Avery in The Color Purple.  The concert was to have featured the star performings songs from her debut album, "It Can Happen to Anyone," which is set to be released on Blue Note Records.  Withers, who makes her Broadway debut in The Color Purple, has "worked with the likes of the late great Luther Vandross, Mary J. Blige, Brenda Russell and Cher," according to Joe's Pub notes.
