BOYS NIGHT at ENCORES!' The Cradle Will Rock

Thursday, July 11th

In an era of Occupy Wall Street-style rebellion against corporate greed, Marc Blitzstein's 1937 battle hymn to the proletariat feels remarkably fresh. Set against the backdrop of a steel strike and peopled with fat-cat capitalists, brutal policemen, heroic union organizers, and a warm-hearted prostitute, The Cradle Will Rock is a powerful political document, a funny, potent satire, and an extraordinary piece of theater history.

Join us for BOYS NIGHT and you can attend a special pre-show talk back: @6:45 pm: Oskar Eustis IN CONVERSATION WITH Sam Gold AND Amy Herzog.

Marc Blitzstein, whose politics ran to the hard left, believed that The Cradle Will Rock would incite a revolution. Oskar Eustis, artistic director of The Public Theater, will talk with The Cradle Will Rock director.Sam Gold (Picnic, Seminar) and playwright, Amy Herzog (After the Revolution, Hungry) about how personal politics impacts art.

TheMenEvent.com hosts the

Time Square Social Party

Monday July 15th, 6-9pm
TIR NA NÓG (315 W 39 St bet 8th and 9th)
OPEN BAR: 6-7PM

We are thrilled to bring attendees out again for another edition of our popular monthly networking party. Attendees will get to meet lots of other gay professionals (or professional gays - wink), make new friendships, enjoy drink specials and more! Complimentary appetizers shall be served at 6pm and will enjoy an open bar from 6-7pm featuring select wine, beer, well drinks.

Tir na nÓg Irish Pub is Times Square's new home of Irish hospitality. The décor is stunning! Artisans spent months creating the atmosphere and decor of an authentic Irish pub with actual architectural features shipped direct from Ireland. The global wine, extensive whiskey offerings, a global menu heavy with Irish influence are only overshadowed by the Irish, local and craft beers menu. Everyone wears a name tag, but instead of putting your name, you put your occupation (it is a networking party after all). The name-tags are also color-coded so you know who is single (in case that is on one's agenda). Regularly attended by hundreds of great guys, this is the one monthly event NYC Gays dare not miss. The event takes place on Monday July 15th from 6-9pm at ,Tir na nÓg - Time Square, 315 West 39th Street.

There is no cover charge and fabulous drink specials. Networking where you meet other amazing attendees and collect business cards to win BIG prizes including tickets to fabulous Broadway and Off Broadway shows.

BOYS NIGHT at ENCORES!'
I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road
Thursday, July 25th

I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road created a sensation when it premiered in the late 1970s. In it, a former pop star ditches the romantic songs of her past and attempts a comeback by performing personal songs that reflect women's changing roles and attitudes. The show stoked the fires of feminism, not only with its joyous rock score proclaiming empowerment for women, but because of its female songwriting team-a rarity in musical theater then and now.

Attend BOYS NIGHT and get access to a special pre-show talkback @ 6:45 pm:

Idina Menzel: PERFORMANCE & TALK BACK
Actress, singer and songwriter Idina Menzel (Rent, Wicked), will talk about A BroaderWay Foundation, a camp she created in 2010 with Taye Diggs to offer girls from underserved communities an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centered programs. She will also perform a song from the camp's most recent show. Q&A to follow.
