Pop Singer Tony Hadley to Star in London 'Chicago'

Tony Hadley, known as the lead singer from the eighties pop band 'Spandau Ballet', will play Billy Flynn in the London production of Chicago. Hadley will be performing on the West End stage at the Cambridge Theatre from Jan. 29 through March 24.  He replaces Ian Kelsey in the role.Hadley will perform alongside Aoife Mulholland as Roxie, Annette McLaughlin as Velma Kelly, Julian Sims as Amos Hart and Brenda Edwards as Mamma Morton.

 

Chicago, which follows the rivalry of merry murderesses Roxie and Velma in the Windy City of the '20s, features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Ebb and Bob Fosse.  The Broadway revival of the 1975 musical has played over 4,200 performances.
