Piedmont Players Holds Auditions for HAIRSPRAY, 2/7-8

Piedmont Players Theatre in Salisbury, NC announces open auditions for it's next Mainstage Production, Hairspray.  
 
The Hit Broadway MusicalShow Dates: March 31-April 2 & April 6-9 at 7:30, April 3 at 2:30

Auditions: Mon, Feb 7th & Tues, Feb 8th at 7pm. Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair? The 2007 movie version of Hairspray starred John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer and was nominated for 3 Golden Globe awards.
 
Auditions will be held on the third floor of the historic Meroney Theater in downtown Salisbury, 213 S. Main St.  Please come with a short song prepared and ready to do a cold reading from the script.  There will also be a small dance audition. 

Rehearsals normally run Monday through Friday 7-10pm, but vary according to show. Scripts are available for checkout before auditions at the PPT offices.  All scripts must be returned by the first day of auditions or there will be a replacement fee charged.
